FIND REST
In this time we live in it is very vital that we find time for Physical Rest & Spiritual Rest.
When your body is weary then your Spirit will become weak
When your Spirit is weary then your body will become weak
Physical Rest & Spiritual Rest work synonymously yet they are different
Many people try to fix Physical weariness with Spiritual Rest and this does not work
Many people try to fix Spiritual Weariness with Physical Rest and this does not work
They each have a set of steps that must be followed
It's real simple - Find time to rest
You may say "I can't afford to" but I say "You can't afford not to"
Whether you are male or female you have a family depending on you and if you crash and burn then they are left to pick up the pieces.
Find a place of rest....for your sake and for your family's sake
Spiritual Rest is one of the most important things in the Kingdom of God
God is very concerned with us keeping our Spirit right and for our Soirit to be Right it must have Rest
Jesus said in Matthew
Matt. 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The word labor here denotes active travail and the words heavy laden relates to weariness.
Many that will read this blog are at this moment in situations where active travail, warfare and weariness abounds
Many times we are working for the Kingdom of God but we are doing it the wrong way
I hope I never forget what my friend Rev. Paul Jacks told me, "You can find yourself doing the right thing the wrong way"
If you are growing weary in well doing then you are "well doing" wrong
The Bible tells us twice to not grow weary in well doing
Gal. 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
2Th. 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
In order to not grow weary in well doing we must take time for Spiritual Rest
There is a "fix all cure" for Spiritual Rest in the Kingdom of God
It's not new answers, it's the same answers that we have had for thousands of years
1. Consistent Prayer
2. Consistent Bible Reading
3. Consistent Devotion
4. Consistent Church Attendance
That’s right, no new answer.....just consistency in the answers we already have
The truth is we must pray, we must read His Word, we must have devotion time and contrary to what the World and many Post Modern Christians say we must attend church faithful....consistency in these things will go far in finding Spiritual Rest
Before I end this blog I want to share with a 3 step way to become consistent in Prayer, Bible Reading & Devotion
Here we go
1. Days
Let's say for example that you start out with 15 minutes. If you pray 15 minutes, read 15 minutes, do devotion 15 minutes for (30 days) you have become consistent in days (You have spent 45 minutes daily with the Master for a month)
2. Time
If 15 minutes was your time....go up 15 more minutes....raise your time in 15 minute intervals one month at a time...don't get crazy here, take it slow
If you pray 30 minutes, read 30 minutes, do devotion 30 minutes for one solid month you have become consistent in days (You have spent 1.5 minutes daily with the Master for a month)
3. Depth
Find devotions that are more in depth about God....that stretch you a bit further
If you will become consistant in these things you will have an edge over Spiritual Weariness
I am at peace the most when I am praying consistently
I am in tune with Him more when I am reading His Word
My mind is more free when I am spending time in devotion
In this End-time the soldiers of God's army must have time for Physical & Spiritual Rest
Weary Foot-Soldiers are of no avail in this army
Let's Rest
